For the school community

Southern Columbia Area High School is in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Southern Columbia Area School District. The district also posts a Tiger News page. This site brings together the latest Episode, the archive, and a way to send a Pitch.

The stream usually opens around 7:45 a.m. for pre-roll, with Daybreak Live beginning at 7:55. The show runs about 4 minutes. Weekday estimate. Holidays, school closures and delays may change the show window.

How a Pitch becomes a Report

Send a Pitch
  1. Pitch

You send an idea. Students, teachers, families and neighbors can all pitch.

  2. Advisor reviews

It goes to a private queue only the Advisor sees. Nothing is public yet.

  3. Crew produces

The Crew shoots, writes and edits it into a Report.

  4. Airs

It runs on Daybreak Live and gets its own page to share.

The mark

The station field is blue on the left and gold on the right, with a white seam between them. On the wordmark, TIGER is gold and NEWS is white. The school’s black and gold identity anchors the station’s look.

What we will not do

  • Invent a quote, a score, or a detail the crew did not check.
  • Put a classmate on air without a clear yes.
  • Guess a delay, a gate time, or any notice that belongs to the office that issued it.
  • Publish a Pitch, a name or a photo before the Advisor approves it.
