Send a Pitch

How to send the crew an idea, what happens next, and how your reply contact is kept private.

A Pitch is an idea for Tiger News: a Report idea, a school announcement, an upcoming event, a club update or a shout-out. Students, teachers, families and neighbors can all send one. You don't need an account.

1. Choose Pitch at the top of any page. 2. Under "What is it?", pick the kind of Pitch. 3. Give it a Pitch title, then tell us what's happening: dates, places and who we could talk to. 4. For a shout-out, tick "The anchor may say the names on air" only if that's OK. 5. Pick your grade, or Teacher or staff, Family member or Neighbor. 6. Reply contact is optional. Leave it blank, or use a school-approved contact. 7. Tick the box that says the Advisor reads every Pitch first, then choose "Send for Advisor review."

What happens next: the Tiger News Advisor reads every Pitch in a private queue. If the crew picks yours up, it can become a Report. Nothing goes public without the Advisor's OK. You'll hear back from your teacher, not from this site.

Your privacy: only the Advisor can see your reply contact. It is never published and never shown to students on the crew. It is erased 30 days after the Advisor reviews your Pitch. Don't put phone numbers, home addresses or passwords in a Pitch.

If the form says too many Pitches came from your school network, wait an hour and try again. What you typed stays on the page.

Need help right now? A Pitch isn't for emergencies. Talk to a trusted adult or the school office.
